Sweet Eli Robert

Hello all. I just read my previous post, and although I had hoped that our little guy was going to stay put for a few weeks longer as of May 22nd, it seems as if God had other plans and our precious Eli Robert was born on May 23rd at 2:48 in the afternoon. The whole experience has been pretty crazy...from feeling that "still, quiet voice" of the Holy Spirit telling me that something was not right with me and the baby on Sunday the 23rd, to frantically trying to find someone to drive me to the hospital and to stay and watch Johnathan since Aaron was in another city working, to being taken to the the OR for an emergency C-section, to delivering my sweet boy all alone...things had to be done quickly, and poor Aaron couldn't make it in time! It was in a word, scary, and I remember praying as I was prepped for surgery..."Jesus, be with me, be with my baby, Jesus, be with me, be with my baby"...and I repeated this over and over again until Eli was born...then he was whisked away to the NICU, and I went into hysterics so the anesthesiologist gave me something to calm me down and things are a bit fuzzy after that.

I am still processing everything, and I am pretty sure that my emotions have been on hold until I'm ready to think about all that has happened.

A few quick stats though until I am able to really post about the events of the past couple of weeks. Like I said, Eli Robert was born at 2:48 in the afternoon, Sunday, May 23rd. He weighed 5 pounds, 2.8 ounces and was 18 1/4 inches long. He was admitted to the NICU immediately after birth, and was released a week later on Sunday...what a great day!

Here is a photo of the first time that I got to hold him. My sweet, baby boy.

More pictures and my thoughts on what all happened to come! Blessings!

Gracie,

God really had His hand on you, Eli and this whole experience. I am so glad that he is doing so well and was able to come home. Praise God!

As you "ponder all these things in your heart" about the mystery and marvel of his birth, may you find peace in knowing that this was exactly God's timing. May you find rest in your heart that God never left you...even when you were alone.

I love you dearly, Gracie...as I do your sweet family.

Xxs & Oos,

Gail
